Original bible record (including title page information) with entries for the family of Benjamin Franklin Copeland and wife Julia Fellows Ruggles of Roxbury, Mass. Contains lineage from immigrant Lawrence (1) Copeland of Braintree to Benjamin Franklin (7) Copeland. A record of diseases (whooping cough, measles, chicken pox, diphtheria, scarlet fever, and typhoid fever) suffered by the children was recorded under "remarks". Accompanying the Copeland record is a family record section from a smaller bible (no title page information) with entries for the family Edwin George Townsende and Mary Ann Goss of Boston. Record also contains the military discharge certificate for William E. Copeland, a typescript biographical note on William Ellery Copeland by Joseph Shippen, a typescript on the "Origin of the Townsende Family", a certificate of marriage for William Ellery Copeland and Carrie Maud Townsende, and a certificate that Caroline Maude Copeland was cremated at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Wash.
